KNYSNA NEWS - The CEO of an architectural and construction company says the poor state of the dirt road from the N2 to Noetzie and the western headlands of Knysna is putting drivers and workers' safety at risk.
Construction vehicles had to use the road to access sites on the western headlands, said the CEO, and her company was presently undertaking two projects at Pezula Private Estate, located there.
"We need to travel on this dirt road four times a day transporting our workers," she said. "The dirt road is in an extremely poor condition and poses a safety risk."
'Taking strain'
The company's workers were "taking strain" from the impact the rocky depressions and holes in the road had on the company's vehicles.
There was also a "huge amount of garbage dumped along the road", and "clean or contaminated water" constantly flowed in channels across, and alongside, it. "It looks like you're travelling through a dump site," the CEO said.
