NATIONAL NEWS - The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has received a product recall of Ford Ranger Wildtrak, Tremor and Platinum and specific batches of Mitchum Roll-on deodorant products as notified by the suppliers.
Ford Ranger Wildtrak, Tremor and Platinum vehicles
Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd (Ford) informed the NCC that they are recalling the Ford Ranger Wildtrak, Tremor, and Platinum 2025 and 2026 model-year vehicles.
According to the supplier, drivers of the affected vehicles may notice a change in pedal feel or travel, with increased pedal effort required to brake the vehicle due to a loss of the brake boost feature.
Ford is recalling a total of five thousand six hundred and seventy-six (5676) vehicles, which were all made available in 2025.
The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Brake warning signals will illuminate, and informational messages will be displayed in the instrument cluster.
In addition, there will be an audible alert. An unexpected loss of brake boost may cause extended stopping distances, increasing the risk of an accident.
Affected consumers are urged to immediately contact the nearest Ford authorised dealership of these motor vehicles to have the affected component replaced at no charge.
Mitchum roll-on products
The manufacturer has advised the NCC that a recent change in the manufacturing process of a raw material affected the acidity levels of the finished product. In some consumers, particularly those with sensitive or compromised skin, this has resulted in contact dermatitis, a skin reaction.
Approximately 124 176 units of the affected batches were distributed in South Africa since April 2025.
The affected products are:
- Mitchum Woman Roll On 100ml 48H Shower Fresh – Batch numbers: S25331A / S25422A;
- Mitchum Woman Roll On 100ml 48H Powder Fresh – Batch numbers: S25331A / S25416;
- Mitchum Men Roll On 100ml 48H Sport – Batch numbers: S25328A / S25416A;
- Mitchum Men Roll On 100ml 48H Mountain Air – Batch number: S25415B.
Consumers who have purchased the affected products are encouraged to discontinue use immediately and return the products to the point of purchase for a full refund. Consumers who are affected by the product are urged to contact Revlon South Africa for further guidance.
The NCC will continue to monitor the process to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Consumer.
