NATIONAL NEWS - Labour federation Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) says no one is qualified to be moral police and peek into bedrooms of public representatives, such as deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa.
The federation was reacting to the Sunday Independent newspaper’s report and claims that it’s in possession of leaked emails showing how the deputy president cheated on his wife with at least eight women.
Ramaphosa has since admitted to only being unfaithful once, eight years ago.
Cosatu is describing Ramaphosa’s alleged extra-marital affairs as “a non-scandal”.
Spokesperson Sizwe Pamla says while the federation agrees that the conduct of those who hold public positions should always be exemplary, people must not impose their principles on the deputy president.
