Measuring 3 700 mm in overall length with a height of 1 655 mm and width of 1 735 mm, the NXT comes in at 25 mm longer and 30 mm wider than its predecessor, with a further gain in ground clearance and improved approach and departure angles.
Aesthetically, the NXT sports a more aggressive appearance courtesy of a new bonnet, redesigned bumper with a integrated satin silver skidplate, new headlights with daytime running LEDs, tooth designed grille, honeycomb lower air intake, more flared wheel arches with plastic cladding, diamond cut 15-inch alloy wheels on higher spec models and smaller fog lights with black bezel surrounds.
Changes at the rear are less extensive and includes LED lights, new tailgate and a so-called Aero kit roof spoilers. A new dual tone paint option matching a black roof with the respective body hue can be had on the top spec K8.
A further departure from the old KUV100 comes inside where the NXT benefits from a new black interior, redesigned central facia housing a seven-inch touchscreen display with satellite navigation, redesigned HVAC switches and a new instrument cluster.
Motivation for the NXT is unchanged with the normally aspirated 1.2-litre three-cylinder mFalcon petrol engine still producing 61 kW and 115 Nm of torque, and the equally sized mFalcon turbodiesel 57 kW and 190 Nm. A five-speed manual is standard fare although a six-speed automated manual will become available next year.
Mahindra South Africa has so far yet to announce if the upgrades will apply to local KUV100 models.
