While final spec details is yet to be divulged, the Russelsheim based automaker has however confirmed that the Crossland X will be made available in five trim levels and a choice of two petrol engines both displacing 1.2-litres, and a single 1.6-litre turbodiesel in two states of tune.
Essentially the same range of engines doing duty in the Peugeot 2008, the base 1.2 churns out 60 kW and 118 Nm linked to a five-speed manual gearbox, while the turbocharged version punches out 81 kW / 205 Nm or 96 kW / 230 Nm. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard fare on the latter.
On the diesel front, the Crossland X's 1.6-litre mill makes 73 kW / 254 Nm or 88 kW / 300 Nm, with transmissions again consisting of a five-or-six speed manual.
Pricing in Germany starts at €16 850 (R235 931) for the base petrol and €19 300 (R270 236) for the diesel, with drive across the range going to the front wheels only.
No confirmation of the Crossland X debuting in South Africa has yet been made.
