In an interview with Australia’s caradvice.com.au earlier this week, Hyundai Australia Senior Product Manager Andrew Tuitahi said only the 202 kW Performance version of the i30 N would be offered with the self-shifter, but that it would study the possibilities of branching out.
At the same time, Hyundai Australia Communications Head Bill Thomas told the online platform that it makes no sense to offer the standard 184 kW i30 N with the manual ‘box once the dual-clutch becomes available, given the local market’s preference for automatics over manuals.
So far, it remains unknown if the i30 N would become available in South Africa, but expect it to arrive later this year or in early 2019 if given the green light.
