The new Stingray is the most powerful standard model ever, with an estimated 335kW and 610Nm of torque on tap. It accelerates to 100km/h in less than four seconds and can achieve more than 1g in cornering grip.

Other highlights include: real carbon fibre interior trip, hand wrapped leather materials and an advanced drive mode selector that tailors 12 different vehicle attributes to fit the driver’s environment.

The Corvette Stingray coupé goes on sale in America during the third quarter of 2013. We doubt whether it will ever find its way to South Africa, but there’s nothing wrong with hoping.
