Janine van Jaarsveld, owner of JE Odendaal, said, "We are changing the name to the 'We Care' challenge. The NekNomination has a bad connotation attached to it. We are doing something caring for those less fortunate than us."
This was the first visit to Bethesda for Van Jaarsveld. "It was a wonderful experience spending a quiet moment with a complete stranger - the young as well as the old. We closed our eyes and prayed and radiated compassion and empathy towards each other.
I thought that rushing around organising a caring visit to a hospice was inspiring, but this was nothing compared to receiving the warmth of a frail handshake and the hug from someone who is using all their strength to just say thank you for being here."
We challenge Inferno Hair Studio to pay the love forward in the next seven days. "I want my friends Zelda and Shannon du Toit to experience the elation we felt by just being with someone that needs the vigour of life for a few minutes."
Inferno Hair Studio must carry on what will hopefully become a tradition in George. The idea of doing good in the form of a challenge was brought to George by Tavcor Motors last month.
