GEORGE NEWS - Keisha Louis (14) from Delville Park made a name for herself recently when she played the role of Kittie Komoetie in the movie Fiela se Kind. But this teen says she is okay with people not making a fuss about her when she's out and about.
After the movie showed in local cinemas, people started recognising Keisha and wanted photographs, selfies and asked lots of questions. For Keisha the experience was not all good - someone wanted to know why coloured women are portrayed as those who fall pregnant young.
She says she tried to not let the bad reviews bother her.
She was also working on two other projects - Rooilig, which was part of a short film festival and Danger Girl, which was shot and edited in about four days. "I still don't see drama as a future but if a role comes up that I like, I will take it."
Keisha was recently approached to play a role that required her to speak in the Cape Flats dialect, but the time frame was too short to get a dialect coach. Looking toward the future she sees herself either studying medicine or the technology of machines.
"It fascinates me how machines work, that is why I am always interested in the latest technology."

She would like to get an English-speaking role next, but in the meantime she keeps busy with school work, family life and her bestie, Ankylo Laws, whom she has known for years.
