KNYSNA NEWS - Missing Hornlee resident Granville Leen (51) has still not been found nearly two weeks after his disappearance, and police are appealing to the public to assist in the search.
"A search for the man is also being conducted by police in the Northern Cape where the vehicle was found," said Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies.
"We are still appealing to anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the police via Crime Stop on 08600 10 111 or the MySaps app. All information will be dealt with confidentially."
His disappearance
According to Spies, preliminary investigation into his disappearance indicated that he left his place of work, a courier service, on Saturday 13 August. This was the last time he was seen. He was dressed in a back hoodie jacket and black trousers at the time of his disappearance.
"His family was unable to trace him and reported the man as missing," Spies said.
Investigations ultimately led to the recovery of his company vehicle, a Nissan bakkie, which was found abandoned on the N7 near Garies in the Northern Cape. This is why searches are also being conducted by Northern Cape police.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the man is kindly requested to contact the investigation officer, Warrant Officer James Visagie, on 044 302 6652 or 073 335 0827.
Alternatively, information could also be shared via the aforementioned numbers.
