GEORGE NEWS - About 230 Harley Davidson motorcyclists from over the country are gathered at the Wilderness Hotel for the weekend.
They are taking part in the annual fund-raising rally of the Garden Route Steel Wings Harley Davidson Club.
They arrived at the Wilderness Hotel yesterday, Friday 15 March, from as far as Namibia, France, Gauteng and Cape Town where they kicked off the weekend with a braai.
This morning everyone made a dramatic, roaring departure for a mass outride along the scenic N2 to the Blackwaters River Lodge near Knysna.

Karen Baker from the Garden Route Club said the rally is aimed at bringing together all like-minded motorcyclists to meet and enjoy a weekend in the beautiful Garden Route while also contributing to a local charity.
A provisional choice of charity that will benefit this year has been made but it will by announced officially only at a later stage.

One of the riders, Marlene Cilliers from Mossel Bay, has been a provisional member for a year and has recently been allowed to the Garden Route Steel Wings chapter.
"I've had my bike for a year now and have clocked about 8 000km."
Cilliers was a Kalahari farmer's wife, but moved to the Western Cape after her husband passed away.
"I love exploring the Southern Cape on my bike. I put my sheep on the back and it makes people laugh, and it makes me happy if I can put a smile on someone's face," said an enthusiastic Cilliers.
The rally ends on Sunday.
Karen Baker, one of the organisers, talks to George Herald:
