GEORGE NEWS - Tekkie Town in collaboration with its brand partners hosted a Battle of the Brands charity golf day on 22 September, aimed at raising funds for non-government organisations (NGOs) based in the Garden Route.
The golf day, now in its second year, raised over R110 000 for Life Community Services with Tekkie Town and its business partners playing a vital role in the success of the event.
Tekkie Town commercial executive Johann Warnich says the event provides Tekkie Town and its brand partners with an opportunity to compete against each other on the field while giving back to the communities.
"In addition to raising funds to help those in need, this social gathering is extremely meaningful to us since we are passionate about supporting those less fortunate, and we are happy to have business partners who are like-minded."
In the spirit of one of Tekkie Town's culture pillars of being 'Better Together', the day enables all the partners that work with Tekkie Town to contribute and build Life Community Services with all prize money being donated.

Tekkie Town CEO Riaan van Rooyen said the donation enables children in the area to have their schooling fully paid for. "It is a special event for us knowing that we can make an impact in the town where we started."
The generous partners for Battle of the Brands golf day included Converse, 100forchange, Puma, Fila, Hopewell Footwear, Hi-Tec, Medicus, Under Armour, Hoola Agency, Reebok, Vans, Adidas and Flash.
"Tekkie Town is a proud member of the George business community which made this year's donation even more special to the teams and partners attending," said Van Rooyen.
