GEORGE NEWS - Jamie Jaguar would like to invite crèche and primary school teachers as well as anyone who wants to promote reading and the love of books among children, to his book launch on Tuesday 12 November.
He will be assisted by the writer, Dr Hugh Houghton-Hawksley. In January 2018, Dr Hugh Houghton-Hawksley and his wife, Nita, set off on a round-the-world tour. With them they took Jamie Jaguar, a lovable soft toy, who has since made quite a name for himself among schoolchildren in the Garden Route.
Houghton-Hawksley has written and published three children's books about their experiences on tour as seen through the eyes of Jamie Jaguar.
Every attendee will receive a free copy of each of the three books:
Hello, Jamie Jaguar

Jamie Jaguar's world tour
This book features a fold-out map and an interesting historical addendum. Most suitable for learners in Grades 5 to 8.
Jamie Jaguar's adventures took him from Mossel Bay to New York, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, China, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Seychelles, Mauritius, Reunion, PE and Cape Town.
Jamie Jaguar will be assisted by the author of the Jamie Jaguar series of books, Hugh Houghton-Hawksley.
The books enable interactive, fun learning for toddlers, beginner readers, senior primary and Grade 8 schoolchildren to get to know the world. By reacting at first to only pictures, and later to pictures and short texts, young readers will become more knowledgeable about the world.
Jamie Jaguar introduces them to the pleasure of reading and they will develop a love for reading that will remain with them throughout their lives.
