GENERAL NEWS - In March 2025, George Airport handled just over 73 000 passengers at a year-on-year growth rate of 2%, compared to the same period in 2024.

Cape Town Air Access released the latest route network update today.
Following delays and aircraft diversions at George Airport, Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) announced earlier this month that, in collaboration with the Ministerial Intervention Team (MIT) appointed by the Minister of Transport, Barbara Creecy, it had prioritised the maintenance of Instrument Flight Procedures (IFPs) to ensure that key network airports are equipped with essential approach procedures.
ATNS said all critical flight approach procedures were submitted to the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) as part of maintenance and that these have been approved.
It said this approval includes instrument approach procedures at George Airport.
