GEORGE BUSINESS NEWS - Young people of Thembalethu are realising more than ever that to start their own business is the best option. One of the people who has capitalised on this trend is entrepreneur Anganathi Kibido (37), who runs a printing business at the Thembalethu Square called 'Isiqalo'.
Kibido started her business in 2014. She had a rocky start as all her equipment was stolen, forcing her to close the business. Eager to fulfil her dreams of becoming her own boss and run a successful business, Kibido started again.
She says that starting a business is not all glamorous. She faced many difficulties. "It is difficult to start a business from scratch as capital is always a problem. You must be willing to take money from your own pocket because it is difficult to get funding," she says.
Isiqalo prints T-shirts, mugs, billboards and also offers other copying services. Due to demand and growth of the business Kibido invited another lady, Sandra Maart, to join her as a partner.
She says her main motivation to start a business was to provide essential services to the people in Thembalethu so they don't need to travel to town to get these services. "I think we are also inspiring young people and promoting the idea that they can start their own businesses and generate their own profit and create jobs for other young people," says Kibido.
She says that business is thriving in Thembalethu and she believes it is healthy to have competition, since it keeps everyone on their toes so they may provide good service to the customers and keep them happy.
The business operates at Thembalethu Square opposite Cash Build. The business hours are Mondays to Fridays, from 08:00 to 17:00.
