GEORGE BUSINESS NEWS - Henque Waste is a recycling and waste managing company with a BEE level 2 rating. It has been in the recycling business for nearly two decades and is still going strong.
For this dynamic, family-orientated team, it's about much more than waste.
It's about creating a family environment for their staff and enhancing the community by doing what they love.
"We are a privately owned company and here to serve our community," says Henque's Douw Bezuidenhout. "Recycling is more than just waste management. It's a habit and part of our everyday lives."
Started in 2007 by CEO Charlotte Lamprecht, the company successfully implemented a two-bag system in Stilbaai in 2008.
In 2009 they expanded the two-bag system to Riversdale, Heidelberg and Albertinia. In 2010 they opened branches in George, Knysna, Mossel Bay and Velddrif on the West Coast and this year they were awarded the Mossel Bay blue bag tender.

They take pride in recycling all commodities of material available in the industry and welcome residents and visitors of George to drop their recyclable material at their facility at 27 Rand Street.
"We investigate all possibilities to establish new and sustainable markets in the industry to create maximum conversion of recovered or available material. We invite everyone to bring their recyclable materials and challenge them to not stop recycling," said Bezuidenhout.
"We are working very closely with municipalities to achieve our goal, but where local government does not want to make use of our services, for whatever reason, we engage directly with the local communities and will gladly assist with all your recycling needs."
