GEORGE BUSINESS NEWS - Nelson Mandela University's open days are sure to attract interest from far and wide.
With a number of faculties and a host of support services all accommodated under one roof in the Furntech Building, the upcoming Nelson Mandela University open days at the George campus offer an opportunity to learners, prospective students, parents and educators to get greater clarity about study options and career choices at this comprehensive university with its seven campuses - six in Port Elizabeth and one in George.

The Faculty of Arts offers programmes such as architectural technology and interior design. The Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences will have a strong presence with a variety of business-related programmes, including tourism management, marketing, business management and a variety of B.Com options.
The higher certificate in business, which was introduced at the George campus two years ago, is in high demand and should also interest prospective students.
Learners and visitors will learn about the unique programmes the George campus science faculty offers within the School of Natural Resource Management, such as forestry, wood technology, veldfire management and nature conservation, along with agricultural management and game ranch management.
The university's physics and sport departments, school of ICT, school of the built environment (with offerings in fields such as architecture, design and architectural technology), school of engineering; biochemistry and microbiology programmes; earth stewardship, and the school of governmental and social sciences will also vie for the attention of enquiring young minds.
Learners from the Southern Cape, such as this group from Plettenberg Bay Secondary School, embraced the opportunity to learn more about NMU at last year's open day at the George campus.
Infrastructure and support
Visitors will also get a glimpse of the excellent support and infrastructure that students enjoy across all Nelson Mandela University's campuses, including services for students with disabilities, student counselling and development services, accommodation, sport, student societies, library and information services, ICT services, and much more. Eduloan and the Financial Aid Office, among others, will be present to provide information on the important issue of funding.
A live broadcast from the campus by Eden FM, scheduled for the Friday between 09:00 and 15:00, will also assist prospective students across the Southern Cape to focus on their future.
Learners, parents and educators are encouraged to make use of this exciting opportunity to learn more about the Nelson Mandela University and how it equips and empowers students - future graduates - to help build a better society. NMU helps students "Change the World"!
