The ambitious plans of Imperial for the dealership was evident from the imposing multi-million rand structure taking shape along the frequently travelled road leading to the Garden Route Mall during the last few months.
The large showroom complies with the branding requirements and guests could take a quick walk through a brand-new workshop where there is sufficient space for future growth.
In line with new green regulations and greater customer awareness of environmental friendliness, the building itself has been planned to have the smallest carbon footprint possible with solar panels to augment electricity and the recycling of water.
Around the building indigenous plants were used to decorate the beds and also for hardiness to use less water.
Ford Motor Company of SA is also taking steps to conserve energy at its manufacturing facilities. At the Silverton Assembly Plant, where the Ford Ranger is built, a programme has been instituted to help reduce energy consumption by 5% in the next year. Additionally, a Wastewater Treatment Plant with state-of-the-art technology was built to ensure minimal environmental impact and doubling the output of recycled water.
Ford stated that it is their vision to have all Ford dealerships in South Africa implement energy saving, environmentally friendly measures. It reflects the values of Ford at a global level and makes the company a more responsible global citizen.
