GEORGE BOWLING NEWS - Two Outeniqua Bowling Club teams took the honours in both the men's and ladies' sections of the highly competitive annual Eden Trips Championship.
The competition was held over two weekends and played on greens throughout Eden when a total of 30 ladies' teams and 48 mens teams entered for the popular competition.
The final playoff rounds with the top 8 ladies' teams and the top 16 men's teams in action were played at the George Bowling Club.
The teams in the ladies' semi-finals were Nan Roos's team (Outeniqua) vs Rosa du Preez's team (Outeniqua) and Mariana van der Walts' team (Still Bay) vs Wendy Murray's team (George).
The mens' semi-final teams were Ted Coetzee's team (Knysna) vs John Young's team (Outeniqua) and Neels Theron's team (Sedgefield) vs Attie Nortje's team (Outeniqua).In the finals Roos' team beat Murray's team in the ladies' section with Young's team who beat their club mates, Nortje's team, in the mens' section.

Ladies: 1 Nan Roos, Anri Fick, Gillian Young (Outeniqua); 2 Wendy Murray, Maryke Rabie, Johlene Bronkhorst (George); 3 Marianna van der Walt, Magda Robbertse, Paula Snyman (Still Bay).
Men: 1 John Young, Japie Combrink, Tom Strydom (Outeniqua); 2 Attie Nortje, Jaco Nortje, Tiaan Tredoux (Outeniqua); 3 Ted Coetzee, Sollie Sauerman, Chris Paton (Knysna).
