GEORGE NEWS - George police have opened a reckless and negligent driving case following a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Nelson Mandela Boulevard and Merriman Street in George on Tuesday evening, 29 September.
According to preliminary information from police spokesperson Warrant Officer Christopher Spies, police and other emergency services responded to the crash at about 19:30.
On arrival, emergency personnel found six vehicles that had collided.
One of the drivers sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. Several occupants also sustained injuries and were taken to medical facilities for treatment.
Their conditions have not yet been established.The cause of the crash is under investigation. The cause of the crash has not yet been confirmed.
A bus-like truck used to transport farm workers to and from work was also involved in the accident. There were no passengers in the truck when it crashed.
