GEORGE FOOTBALL NEWS - Parks United Football Club (Parkdene) collected much-needed crucial points away from home when they sank Eastern City 2-1 in the Safa Eden SAB regional league last weekend. Their victory at Kwanokuthula Stadium in Plettenberg Bay boosted their position on the log table.
The three goals were scored by Bradley "Tikkie" Okkers (2 ) for Parks United and Thozamile Senzele for Eastern City.
From the outset both sides were creating goal-scoring opportunities. Parks United employed the speed of their attacking players, Nathan "Teko" Jooste and Bradley "Tikkie" Okkers to expose the Eastern City backline.
Mike Dumana of Eastern City's first chance at scoring was blocked by Bradwill Bruinders, the Parks United goalkeeper.
The first goal was scored by Okkers after Eastern City goalkeeper, Anoxolo Mbaxa, mishandled the ball from a long-range shot delivered from the centre.
Eastern City tried their best to score the equaliser, but Parks United extended their lead to 2-0 when Okkers scored from the penalty spot.

Thozamile Senzele then scored a goal for Eastern City after a marvellous cross from the right side of the field.
The game sprang to life after 60 minutes with both teams playing enterprising football. A dangerous strike by Okkers was blocked by Anoxolo Mbaxa. Eastern City tried their best to level the score in the last ten minutes of the game, but to no avail.
