GEORGE NEWS - While the school is closed for the winter holidays, the Thembalethu Inkcubeko Youth Science Centre employees are working hard to prepare and shape the future of learners across Thembalethu.
The centre offers clinic and educational design programs for learners.
They have identified and nurtured a talented group of young artists, showcasing their exceptional drawing skills.
The team consists of four talented artists: Enikayo Mose, a Grade 12 learner at Thembalethu High School, Geoff Moyo, a Grade 10 learner at Imizamo Yethu High School, Yamnkela Mbilase, a Grade 12 learner at Imizamo Yethu Secondary School and Ntlalo Mtsora, who matriculated from Imizamo Yethu Secondary School last year.
According to Kwalunga Yaso, facilitator at the Inkcubeko Youth and Science Centre, the centre is committed to uplifting the communities of George while supporting learners and young people.
She said that through the Inkcubeko Art Hive Programme, learners are given a safe space to express their emotions while developing their artistic skills.
The programme also encourages participants to enter art competitions to showcase their talent and supports other initiatives, including robotics.
Yaso emphasised that the centre is committed to developing young people through art, science and creativity.
The art team is inviting community members who would like to view or purchase their drawings to contact the Inkcubeko Youth and Science Centre.
