VOLKSWAGEN has added another model to the Polo Vivo - South Africa’s best-selling passenger car - range, called the Vivo Maxx.
This new model looks set to take on the likes of the Renault Sandero Stepway and the GWM Florid Cross, as well as provide a cheaper alternative the popular CrossPolo.
The Maxx’s suspension has been raised by 26mm. Styling changes include the addition of 17-inch “Budapest” alloy wheels, painted exterior mirrors, twin exhaust tailpipes and aluminium roof rails.
It is powered by Volkswagen’s familiar 1.6-litre petrol engine found elsewhere in the range and retains its 77kW power output and five-speed manual transmission.
On the interior front, the Maxx features pedals with aluminium inserts, a centre console painted in titanium silver, air conditioning, a three-spoke leather steering wheel with silver insert and grey stitching.
The radio features the same CD/MP3/USB with Bluetooth functionality as standard, along with four speakers. Front driver- and passenger airbags as well as ABS with EBD and central locking round off the list of standard features.
The Vivo Maxx is set to retail for R160 300 and includes a 3-year/120 000km warranty.
