According to weekend report by Automotive News, the unnamed pick-up, which will likely be build alongside the Atlas and Passat at Volkswagen’s Chattanooga Plant in Tennessee, will debut alongside a mystery SUV rumoured to be the five-seat Atlas teased in a single sketch earlier this month.
Unlike a traditional pick-up though, the newcomer will reportedly ride on the same MQB platform as the Atlas, and more than likely come powered by either the 175 kW 2.0 TSI or 206 kW 3.6 VR6 petrol engines.
With the Amarok not expected to enter the US anytime soon, the new pick-up, according to a Volkswagen spokesperson, will be sold only in North America and Canada, thus virtually making it a local market no-no.
