SPORT NEWS - Fish Eagles Aquatics delivered an outstanding performance at the Eden Short Course Swimming Championships held in Knysna last weekend, securing the overall top club trophy.
Among the standout performers was 14-year-old Kyle Hahn, who broke two Eden records in the 400m individual medley and 50m freestyle.
In total, Kyle earned eight gold medals, including five individual and three relay victories.
Teammate Ewald Swanepoel (16) added to the record-breaking performances by setting a new Eden record in the 400m individual medley. Ewald also claimed three individual gold medals.
Another highlight of the championships came from Fish Eagles swimmer Minke Janse van Rensburg (21), who produced an exceptional performance by breaking the World Down Syndrome record in the 50m freestyle.
Although Kyle, Ewald and Minke compete under the Fish Eagles Aquatics banner, all three swimmers train at Garden Route Swim School (GRSS). The school produced an impressive 123 personal-best performances throughout the championships.
- Since June this year Kyle broke a total of seven Eden swimming records, in addition to the two records he broke last weekend.
