Aside from featuring a black and yellow livery in celebration of the company's 40th anniversary of F1 involvement as a constructer and/or engine supplier, technical details of the RS are still unknown with rumours suggesting it will use the same 1.8-litre turbocharged engine as the Alpine A110, with around 221 kW on tap, or a new blown 2.0-litre.
While only previewed in a series of rear end shots leaked over the last two weeks, the five-door only RS is expected to retain a six-speed manual gearbox, with a seven-speed EDC optional for the first time. Another first will be inclusion of the Megane GT's rear-wheel steering system as standard.
