Submitted by Brazilian automotive artist Kleber Silva, the depiction paints a sleeker image versus the production version of the Colt and somewhat dull, slow-selling Mirage, with the front facia taken from the European spec Outlander and the rear inspired by that of the new Nissan Micra.

As the newcomer will reportedly share its underpinnings with the next generation Micra and Renault Clio following Nissan-Renault's recent buyout of Mitsubishi, the proposed Mirage's shape mirrors that of the Nissan with a distinctive V-shaped kink on the front door that flows upwards.

In addition to swaths of chrome detailing and a sporty looking rear end with taillights that cuts into the rear fender, the Mirage is also devoid of rear door handles, likely to have been incorporated into the C-pillar, with a bumper integrated diffuser rounding the design off.

Power is likely to come from a range of Renault sourced three cylinder turbocharged petrol and a single turbodiesel, expected to be the long-serving 1.5 dCi, in various states of tune. Whether the proposed model will revive the Colt name or continue with Mirage remains to be seen.
