Ferrari F40 - This 1 158-piece set is so intricate you can even remove its tiny twin-turbo V8 engine, open the doors and even use those glorious pop-up headlamps. Expect to pay well over R1 200 for this though, so start saving!
Volkswagen Beetle - This item is also exceptionally intricate, with 1 167 pieces to work with. The famous Volla is iconic locally so I’d love to get my hands on this model version, which includes a roof rack that holds a cooler box and surf board;
Ford GT- Okay so this is almost the size of a real GT40, but it doesn’t stop me from wanting it. This project took three weeks and 40 000 bricks to complete. The result though, a Lego version of the Ford GT race car that will be raced at the Le Mans 24 Hours. See the video here
Mini Cooper - This 1 077-piece set is available locally, for a price closer to R2 000. For your hard earned Rands you’ll get the iconic green body with white wing mirrors and roof as well as opening doors, fog lights, a detailed engine and a spare tyre compartment.
24 Hours Race Car - The 24 Hours Race Car is quite something, with a detailed V8 engine with moving pistons, opening gull-wing doors, all-round independent suspension, working front steering, high fenders and an opening front trunk and engine hood. Expect to pay around R1 600 for this mini-machine.
