Touted as being nothing more than a study with no intentions as yet of making it into production, the concept comes finished in Gazoo Racing’s corporate white, black and red decals, but adds 17-inch alloy wheels, a gloss black finish around the extended wheel arches and at the base of the rear bumper, flared side sills, dual exhaust outlets, a black bonnet, carbon fibre rear spoiler, lowered suspension, a V-shaped red strip on either side of the Toyota logo and a carbon fibre lip spoiler also with a red strip.
Inside, Toyota has only made subtle changes in the form of drilled alloy pedals, a leather wrapped steering wheel with red stitching and Alcantra trimmed sport seats with red and white stitching.
Although no technical details were revealed, the GR-S reportedly follows the same route as the Hilux GR Sport unveiled at the same event, with no changes having taken place up front. It therefore means that the 1.5-litre petrol engine once again produces 81kW/146Nm, likely paired to a CVT.
