Set to be one of the models the three pointed star has earmarked to expand its small car platform from the current five to eight by 2020, the mini G-class GLB will reportedly borrow heavily from the Enter-G Force concept shown at the 2012 Los Angeles Motor Show in the styling department, and use the same Modular Front-wheel drive Architecture 2 expected to underpin the next generation A-class hatch and sedan, CLA and CLA Shooting Brake, as well as the new B-class and GLA.
Only expected to arrive in 2019, the GLB will be powered by a range of three and four cylinder turbo petrol and diesel engines, with five and seven seat options being mulled as well manual and dual-clutch gearboxes.
