According to BMW Blog, the M2 M Performance Edition will be limited to just 150 units and feature mainly exterior and interior revisions such as a black kidney grille and side gills, M Performance illuminated door sills, M Performance titanium tipped exhaust an M Performance suspension.
Inside, the M Performance is less radical with manually adjustable sport seats, basic keyless entry system, single-zone climate control and basic sound system.
Known under the code name ZL9, and unlike most special edition BMW's, the Alpine White only M Performance will use the normal M2's 272 kW / 500 N.m 3.0-litre TwinPower straight-six turbo, mated exclusively to a six-speed manual gearbox with the otherwise optional M Drivers Package standard.
Although no complete images have yet been released, orders are now open with the M Performance commanding a sticker price of $61 695 (R801 232).
