Posted by BMW Blog Slovenia, the M2 CP differs from the current model by sporting mirrors similar to those of the M3 and M4, redesigned door sills as well as front and rear bumpers, multi-spoke black 19-inch alloy wheels and black finish on the double kidney grille.
Aside from the M4 derived sport seats with illuminated M2 badging, the smallest CP’s interior appears otherwise unchanged from the regular model, but more details are likely to emerge in the coming weeks.
The blog post, however, claims that the M2 CP will undergo its biggest change up front where the 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six will gain a second blower to lift power from 272 kW / 500 Nm to 302kW/550Nm.
While top speed is expected to be kept at 250 km/h, the 0-100 km/h sprint will now take an alleged 4.2 seconds, obtained when mated to the seven-speed M dual-clutch gearbox. No word on the six-speed manual has yet been made.
Complete details will be revealed in Beijing, while local availability remains unknown.
