Each of the main sponsors involved, supported one particular event during the weekend in September, and the team was extremely fortunate that every event made a profit due to the excellence attendance figures. Each sponsor chose their specific worthy charity to support.
Lagoon Bay, the main sponsor, chose Bethesda CBC. They provide out-patient palliative care to 460 patients in the following areas in George: Rosemoor, Maraiskamp, Lavalia, Conville, Parkdene, Lawaaikamp, Borchards and Thembalethu. Lagoon Bay will be supporting the ‘Care Bear Project’ which aims to give psycho-social support by way of a life skills and a crafts programme.
The George Herald sponsored the 10km Night Run and chose the Vermaaklikheid School for children from broken homes where alcohol abuse is rife. The school is small but neat and clean. The teachers are dedicated and follow a sound educational syllabus. The George Herald donated much needed sports equipment.
Hermitage Financial Services sponsored the Extreme MTB Enduro Cycle Race. They chose Kleine Kuikens, a nursery school at Middeplaas, as their charity. The school was created for children of farmworkers and currently accommodates 40 children from all the neighbouring farms. Hermitage Financial Services has donated much needed art supplies for the children.
McDonald’s sponsored the Kids Carnaval and they will be supporting the George SPCA that will be using this donation to buy food for their animals.
Vodashop sponsored the Young Artist of the Year Competition. With stores in Mossel Bay, Knysna, George and Oudtshoorn Vodashop is exposed to the needs of the greater Eden district. They donated a food parcel to Heavenly Haven in Groot-Brak which provides food and shelter for destitute people.

All the organisers, interested parties and sponsors involved in the Xtreme Outdoor Adventure Expo enjoyed a breakfast at Morning Glory at Fancourt Golf Estate where donations were handed over to charities.
