The worker gave her name as "Zelda" and said she was from Borchards.
The rings were the only pieces of jewellery her benefactor owned. People are asked to be on the lookout as the rings are quite recognisable and the owner is devastated at the loss.
One ring has a garnet with diamonds and the other has a tanzanite stone in the centre with two diamonds on the side. Both are 18 carat gold and the owner suspects they might be offered to a pawn shop.
"Zelda" is short and extremely thin and was wearing black pants, a white short sleeve T-shirt with a orange sleeveless top and a black jacket. She was also wearing tan coloured sandals, socks and a black scarf on her head. She is described as having wrinkles, possibly being in her 40s and sounding like a respectable church-goer.
The people of George are asked to be vigilant if offered the rings for sale and to try and help with the recovery of the two rings. Anyone with information are asked to contact Muneera on 082 694 1362 or Rashied on 082 568 4501.
