Update

GEORGE NEWS - All fire lines remain contained on the Kammanassie Mountain range this morning, Tuesday 25 January.

The Garden Route District Municipality (GRDM) night shift crew attended to the smouldering areas on the southwestern, as well as southeastern sides of the wildfire to ensure no flare-ups occur close to infrastructure.

The GRDM dayshift firefighters and Working on Fire (WoF) will patrol all areas on foot from the north-west to the north-east today in the attempt to finalise mopping up of the entire wildfire area.

Temperatures are cooler today and this will aid operations.

No lives lost or damage to infrastructure recorded to date.
