GEORGE NEWS - The University of the Third Age (U3A) George branch has now settled back in Emmaüs in Memorium Street and welcomes visitors to their meetings there.
On Wednesday 15 February in Armchair Travel, Esther van Rooyen will share her hiking adventure in the Austrian Alps with the audience.
Esther is a great believer in regular exercise and the great outdoors and, for many years, has been a member of the Berg-en-Dal Hiking Club. The meeting starts at 10:30 and visitors are welcome for an entrance fee of R20.
At the Friday lecture on 17 February, Case Rijsdijk will deliver a lecture on the WEBB Telescope and show pictures of some of the amazing work this instrument is already producing. Tea is at 10:00 and the lecture starts at 10:30.
On Monday 20 February, the Digi Club will be dealing with minimalism. If you want to join this happy group of photographers, contact Roza Barnes at rozabarnes@gmail.com. This meeting starts at 14:00.
The annual general meeting is on Wednesday 22 February and after the main business, the Digi Club will present their annual exhibition and awards. Tea is at 10:00 and the meeting starts at 10:30.
On Monday 27 February at 14:00, Case Risjdijk will lead the discussion on International Affairs.
