According to Lindela Msipi, a security guard from Niqua Security Services, the incident took place at about 14:15 outside Pick n Pay, when he noticed a man who appeared to have something suspicious in his pants.
The man then turned violent and refused to be arrested. He took out a knife and I wrestled with him and tried to disarm him," said Msipi. "My colleague came to my rescue, but the man bit his finger. It took customers and other bystanders to bring him down," said Msipi.
