GEORGE NEWS - All prize money from the Tekkie Town Battle of the Brands golf day on Thursday 16 September was donated to Life Community Services (LCS) in George.
It was held at Pinnacle Point. Tekkie Town CEO Riaan van Rooyen said, "In the spirit of our culture of taking ownership and recognising achievements, the Tekkie Town team decided to change how our usual golf day prize-giving would work - by donating all prize money to Life Community Services."
The day was also an ideal opportunity to host a fun golfing event for their brand partners. "This enabled us to finally have them in our new office, and meet them in person after the last year and a half of engaging predominantly online."
Tekkie Town commercial executive Johann Warnich said the event was an effort to build up the company's home town community. "Collectively through our own and our brand partner donations, we were able to secure school fees for a number of learners, contribute sport shoes, and donate over R20 000 to the work that Life Community does in the George area."
Olympic silver medallist Bianca Buitendag represented Life at the prize-giving.
