MOTORING NEWS - South Africa is a favourite test market for global companies.
Automotive companies also like to test the water here with their new models.
In the case of BMW, we regularly see as yet unknown test vehicles in different stages of camouflage around George.
We suspect the reason for the region's popularity is that there are fewer paparazzi around while a design is being tested in real life.
However, Autodealer is wide awake and we keep our eyes peeled.

Other reasons for local testing are the good state of the roads, which we as locals should enjoy.

And let's not skip over the many and varied passes where the vehicles can be tested to their optimum.
Note that these vehicles operate under special government permission.
Do not, we repeat, absolutely not, attempt to engage in a dicing contest.
You will lose and the speed tickets will stand!
So here are the results of the latest local tests being run by BMW Germany in the Southern Cape.
