GEORGE NEWS - The male students and staff of Rundle College stood up against gender-based violence on Monday 9 September. Uniting in nine minutes of silence they showed their solidarity against the abuse of women after countrywide protests were sparked by the rape and murder of UCT student, Uyinene Mrwetyana amid the violent deaths of many other women.
"It is important that we stand together against the atrocities and support women in the fight against the toxic culture of sexual harassment women have to deal with daily. We are extremely proud of our boys for showing up for women," said Jesse le Roux, Rundle College head prefect.
