GEORGE NEWS AND VIDEO - Residents of Thembalethu joined the national call for justice today, Tuesday 8 April, in a march demanding answers in the case of 7-year-old "Cwecwe", who was allegedly raped at a private school in Matatiele, Eastern Cape, in October 2024.
Her mother claims the case has been mishandled and is frustrated by the lack of progress.
However, AfriForum has pushed back, saying false allegations and social media speculation have endangered innocent people. Their client, the school principal, has reportedly received death threats, despite claims he was not on the same campus at the time of the incident.
Protesters say justice delayed is justice denied. AfriForum says reckless online accusations have created trial-by-media.
The headmaster was reportedly implicated based on the mother's version of events. She alleged that her daughter, Cwecwe, was raped while waiting for transport after school.
