GEORGE NEWS - The removal of refuse will go ahead today, Thursday 19 August, but unfortunately will be delayed due to heavy rainfall.
The cleansing team will do everything possible to remove the refuse in scheduled areas as well in the rural areas.
Those areas which experienced flooding, where trucks struggle to reach, will be rescheduled for tomorrow or Saturday depending on the weather conditions.
We ask the public to be patient and leave their refuse outside for pick up. The public cannot not leave their refuse inside and phone afterwards for pick up when the truck has already passed through their area.
We will keep the public informed of rescheduling.
If you live in these areas, your refuse will be removed today:
- Wilderness Heights,
- Dormehlsdrift,
- George South,
- Le Grand,
- Bos en Dal,
- Groeneweidepark,
