GEORGE NEWS FLASH - Danie Ferreira has been appointed as the new head of the George weather bureau as from 1 April.
Danie is from the De Aar weather office where he worked for the past 22 years.
During his 33 year career as a weatherman, Danie has manned numerous weather offices and jumped at opportunities to experience some extremely isolated places such as Marion Island, Gough Island and Antarctica.
He spent two years on Marion Island and would afterwards accompany and help set up 10 relief teams there.
