GEORGE NEWS - George Mayor Leon van Wyk, accompanied by Clrs Marlene Barnardt, Brendon Adams and Erika Brown, visited the Rosemoor Old Age Home recently to see how they are doing and to hear about needs and challenges they have.
The matron, Sister Charmaine Titus, took the municipal officials on a tour and told them about the management of the facility.
Van Wyk said they wanted to know they could help reduce the challenges they face, so that these homes can run smoothly, and the older residents can live in dignity.
The Rosemoor Old Age Home currently has 92 residents and can accommodate 98 people at full capacity. The home has 67 staff members, all under the supervision of Titus, who has been at the home for a little over a year.
The group engaged with the staff and some of the residents at the home and were serenaded by one of the residents, Aunty Cory.
