GEORGE NEWS - 'Fighting ghost fishing: Unseen aspects of sport fishing' will be the topic of a presentation by marine biologist Mark Dixon on Wednesday 22 August at the Wilderness Hotel and Spa.
Dixon will be the speaker at a meeting of the Wilderness Ratepayers and Residents Association.
He will be telling how fishing gear that has been lost, dumped or abandoned and contraptions designed to catch fish, are capable of 'ghost fishing' when unattended, destroying marine life on our doorstep.
The meeting starts at 18:00 for 18:30. All are welcome.
Admission is R10 for WRRA members and R20 for non-members.
