GEORGE NEWS - George police opened an inquest docket after human remains, at an advanced stage of decomposition, were discovered in a gulley next to the railway line near Memoriam Street, at 15:15 on Friday, 10 September.
Southern Cape police spokesperson, Sgt Chris Spies, says a security official was busy with routine patrols in the area when he made the discovery. Crime scene experts combed the scene for clues.
The origin and identity of the deceased has not been determined.
An autopsy to determine the cause of death is scheduled for early this week.
