GEORGE NEWS - The George Home Affairs office has been unable to deliver any services since yesterday, Wednesday 16 February, because its computer systems are offline.
"Our systems are offline because of an issue with the Telkom line, but they are working on it," Home Affairs Eden district manager Dr Mosioua Ngaka said. George Herald had enquired after receiving a complaint about a long queue.
Ngaka said the offices are fully manned as the systems can go live at any time. "We cannot close the office as we will resume work as soon as the system is running again. We must also be here to keep visitors informed."
The Prince Albert office is also offline. Oudtshoorn was affected yesterday, but the problem there was resolved before the end of the day.
Ngaka said he would keep George Herald updated on the situation.
