GEORGE NEWS - The eastern and southern firelines are contained and 90% extinguished despite the wind picking up in certain areas.
Firefighters have been mostly busy with mopping up today and will continue until tomorrow morning.
Firefighting efforts along the western part of the fireline were not successful because of accessibility. Monitoring of this area will continue.
A south-southeasterly wind, blowing up-hill and slightly west is forecasted for most parts of the evening. Misty conditions are expected and will be of benefit to firefighers.
No lives lost or damage to infrastructure recorded to date.
