GEORGE NEWS - The sod-turning ceremony for 30 housing units for military veterans took place last week at Erf 325, in Pacaltsdorp.

Western Cape Minister for Infrastructure Tertuis Simmers and George Mayor Jackie von Brandis attended the official event. 

This milestone marks the start of construction on 30 units for military veterans, with work set to begin immediately.
The Western Cape Department of Infrastructure is overseeing the project. 

The event was attended by members of the Mayoral Committee, Acting Municipal Manager Godfrey Louw, senior officials from both the Department of Infrastructure and George Municipality, as well as representatives of military veterans.

This development highlights the commitment of both the municipality and the provincial government to providing inclusive housing solutions for vulnerable communities.
