GEORGE NEWS - A Chinese delegation who intended on visiting the region from 6 to 16 November 2017 has postponed their trip to next year, probably in March.
They are interested in pursuing business opportunities in the George area and setting up an office from which they could facilitate long-term partnering on opportunities with businesses in our district.
George Business Chamber Manager Ingrid Cronjé said, "The Chinese delegation has indicated that it would be more advantageous for them to visit our region early next year.
"They have tentatively selected March 2018 as the month that they believe would be more appropriate. We shall certainly keep you informed of any further notifications."
George Business Chamber sent out a letter last week with a view of assisting in setting up a network opportunity between local businesses and the visitors.
The visitors are interesting in the following sectors:
• Seminars on tourism promotion and development of the area;
• Traditional Chinese medicine and therapy;
• China-SA cultural exchange activities, including business language and business practice training;
• Promoting trade activities on agricultural and animal husbandry;
• The development of infrastructure construction and tourism facilities;
• Solar energy systems specifically for farming purposes (agricultural technology);
• Municipal waste (recycling, digital waste, wooden waste, plastic and tyres);
• Tai Chi training courses;
• Medicinal plants as well as aloe products, berries and honey bush tea;
• Honey products;
• Solar energy products or solution.
